BBQ for the regatta

Sometimes I think that the YC is turning into a restaurant - more BBQ s seem to take place here than anywhere else!

Regatta on Sunday 22 August

The best way to have won this regatta organised by the YC was to have cheated and sneakily switched on the boat engine! 'Mer belle' as they say in the weather forecast! Thanks to Pierrot for the photo.

Maryne

While everybody else has been messing around all summer, our outstanding young female sailor Maryne has been busy doing some serious sailing - here she is seen at the 'Championnat de France'. Bravo! I think she will succeed. Not only a great sailor, she is the most glamorous female in the club and intelligent too.

Pierrot

Er, since the new vending machine has been installed it is a full time job for Pierrot! I just hope that he does not get locked inside the machine. But when is it going to sell coca cola LIGHT, a Gin and tonic or a dry martini? Time will tell.

Unbelievable but true - FINALLY that horrible old vending machine for cold drinks has been chucked out - and is soon to be replaced by a nice new machine. Here you can see the old machine being taken away (sob!).

It's Summertime and all the tourists are here busy taking sailing lessons at the YC!

Point Plage of many colours

Well, there is the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colours given to him by his father Jacob and the bad end that came to it all after he aroused the envy of all his brothers - will Point Plage end the same way? We discover that the Yacht Club is brimming with frustrated artists only too happy to get their hands on a pot of paint - or two!

Point Plage

Seen here the progress of 'Point Plage' (not much!) plus a pic of some faithful English tourists that use that beach and who have just arrived and are unloading their sailing gear for summer and infront of them you can see the newly painted dinghy belonging to JL who I see has copied Patrick in his choice of paint colour - he will now be known as the 'Yellow Peril'. At least he will be seen at sea when he capsizes!

Construction is under way, thou there is practically no beach this year to stock the boats and the sea access is quite difficult

After the heavy rain, a good clean up is necessary -yet again!
